Dreams Across Waters is a nonprofit dedicated to connecting compassionate supporters with communities in Senegal and The Gambia through clothing donations, care packages, malaria prevention resources, and long-term partnerships built on trust and respect.
Building Trust, One Relationship at a Time
Before Dreams Across Waters became an official nonprofit, its mission was already taking shape. Through nearly a decade of travel to Senegal and The Gambia, lasting friendships were built with families and communities. Clothing was shared, care packages were delivered, and support grew naturally from the relationships formed along the way.
These personal experiences revealed that meaningful change begins with trust, respect, and long-term relationships, not one-time visits. Those relationships became the foundation of Dreams Across Waters.

For nearly a decade, Janae Morgan Sonko has traveled to Senegal and The Gambia, building genuine relationships with families and communities. What began as personal visits grew into a longlife commitment to serving women and children through compassion, partnership, and practical support.
